The parade is the highlight to a wacky day\u00a0of parties, food, bands and the same location as the Rose Parade which comes down Colorado Boulevard 5 1\/2 weeks later. Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/pasadena-doodah-parade.html\">The Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade<\/a> began as a grassroots event in 1978 to gain national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire. Believe it or not, it&#8217;s still crazy as ever, and free to see. The public can apply to participate with an entry, too.
