If we have to pick a favorite, it&#8217;s\u00a0the annual Cabrillo Beach Polar Bear Plunge in San Pedro (shown in photo). \u00a0Here&#8217;s why:<\/p>\n<p>San Pedro&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/events\/newyear\/san-pedro-polar-bear-plunge.html\">Cabrillo Beach Polar Bears Plunge<\/a>\u00a0Jan. 1, 2016<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s FREE. \u00a0Most plunges charge a fee, sometimes as much as $20! This event doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Some\u00a0plunges are for members only, which means you have to pay to join.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s BIG! \u00a0Up to a\u00a0thousand or more attend this event!<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s FUN! The Cabrillo Beach Polar Bears crown\u00a0the 2016 King &amp; Queen. They usually do the Grunion Dance, too!<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s AUTHENTIC. It promotes\u00a0health and community. Many participants swim daily in the Pacific Ocean.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s got HISTORY.
