When the annual AMGEN Tour of California<\/a> cycling race\u00a0launches in mid-May\u00a0the eight day event that starts in\u00a0Southern California\u00a0and ends near the California\u00a0State Capitol will pass through many cities to the delight of hundreds of thousands of fans. Counties participating in the momentous race include San Diego,\u00a0Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Monterey, San Joaquin, El Dorado, Sacramento and Sonoma.\u00a0Each year since its inception in 2006 California cities have been selected to\u00a0host the event, providing sponsorship money,\u00a0hotel accommodations and other services to support the massive race.
