The printer is the focal point of public workshops showing\u00a0how to design 3D prints,\u00a0change filament and get to know the printer. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Institute of Museum and Library Services,\u00a0the primary source of federal support for the nation\u2019s 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums, selected Santa Ana Public Library among the Top 10 library systems in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year&#8217;s National Medal recipients show the transforming role of museums and libraries from educational destinations to full-fledged community partners and anchors,&#8221; said Dr. Kathryn K. Matthew, director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When people ask what I call this library, I say, &#8216;La biblioteca milagrosa,&#8217; which means the miracle making library,&#8221; said\u00a0Gerardo Mouet, executive director of Santa Ana Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. &#8220;We customize the little resources we do have to fit our needs and, more importantly, the needs of the community where we are ingrained.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>San Mateo County Libraries\u00a0and\u00a0Santa Cruz Museum of Art &amp; History\u00a0were among 30 finalists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pictured: Santa Ana Public Library implemented a new 3D printer into their eLibrary services in an effort to keep their community current with the latest advances in technology.
