That&#8217;s not to say things can&#8217;t change, but due to the low levels of rain and efforts by many agencies to clean up their shores, the water quality on 95% of California&#8217;s monitored beaches received\u00a0a grade of A or B for the 2015-2016 report. Water quality at 456 beaches along the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/beaches\/directory.html\">California coast<\/a>\u00a0during the measuring period\u00a0found\u00a0weekly bacterial levels\u00a0low. If you are planning a beach vacation there are currently just a handful of spots where you may want to consider moving down or up shore a bit&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Beach Bummers, \u00a0D or F\u00a0\u00a0grade<\/h2>\n<p>Cowell Beach, west of the wharf (Santa Cruz County)<br \/>\nClam Beach, near Strawberry Creek (Humboldt County)<br \/>\nShoreline Beach Park at Shelter Island (San Diego County)<br \/>\nMonarch Beach, north at Salt Creek (Orange County)<br \/>\nSanta Monica Pier (Los Angeles County)<br \/>\nMarina del Rey \u2013 Mother&#8217;s Beach (Los Angeles County)<br \/>\nRedondo Municipal Pier (Los Angeles County)<br \/>\nCandlestick Point\/Sunnydale Cove (San Francisco County)<br \/>\nPillar Point, end of West Point Ave. (San Mateo County)<br \/>\nPismo Beach Pier, 40 feet south (San Luis Obispo County)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a fantastic summer for a beach vacation, thanks to some of the best grades ever since nonprofit Heal the Beach began monitoring water quality 26 years ago.
