On June 5, 2016 the annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/nevada-city-soapbox-derby.html\">Nevada City Adult Soapbox Derby<\/a> includes hilarious vehicles that look like a Wiener dog,\u00a0Mr. Potato\u00a0Head,\u00a0perhaps, or pair of glasses stationed on a\u00a0large nose. Sky&#8217;s the limit on imagination but the contestants can&#8217;t spend more than 500 bucks.<\/p>\n<p>One week later and 10 hours\u00a0by car a similar soapbox derby in San Diego&#8217;s Little Italy showcases accomplishments of the\u00a0kids at Washington Elementary S.T.E.A.M. Magnet School.\u00a0Whimsical\u00a0race vehicles\u00a0are decked out like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a cannoli, mermaid, and more. Along with the student race, this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/san-diego-soapbox-derby.html\">2016 VanGo! S.T.E.A.M.
