American Graffiti returns to Modesto<\/a> to celebrate the city’s heritage one sneaker-wearing, blue jean-clad teen witnessed and made into a\u00a0movie earning\u00a0over $200 million.\u00a0Hometown hero George Lucas\u00a0received many rejections before Universal Pictures\u00a0financed his\u00a0film starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips,\u00a0Paul Le Mat, and Wolfman Jack. Set in Modesto in 1962, it tells the story of a group of teenagers and their adventures over a single evening.<\/p>\n
