Shown is the big ducky &#8220;dump&#8221; from\u00a0Diestlehorst Bridge into the Sacramento River\u00a0in Redding.\u00a0Last year approx. 36,000\u00a0ducks were adopted and raced.\u00a0Most duck derbies are\u00a0fundraisers for causes ranging from school programs to medical assistance and care. In most derbies the\u00a0public can\u00a0sponsor ducks, name\u00a0them, then be eligible for\u00a0prizes.
