Several years ago when Tim and Susan Mathison set a world record when they presented a 2,032 pound pumpkin (heavier than a VW Beetle,) at one of California’s pumpkin contests<\/a>. Although that record has been broken, the “Greatest Pumpkin Show on Earth” in Elk Grove Oct. 1-2, 2016 promises to set records for fun with its Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, Pumpkin Derby (downhill racers,) Pumpkin Regatta (water race,) and World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship.
