In Huntington Beach (shown in photos,) many more people watched from the Huntington Beach Pier and Huntington City Beach than the 300 brave souls who entered the ocean. The scene was fairly typical\u00a0of\u00a0the 1,000+ miles of beaches that span the state.\u00a0Studies have shown that only a fraction\u00a0of beach visitors actually enter\u00a0the water, even in the best of times when\u00a0water quality ranks\u00a0A+. \u00a0What do millions of beach-goers do to entertain themselves?
