There were these big, comfortable-looking shoes, which looked like they were off Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. I felt they at least deserved trying on, even though there was no way I was going to buy them. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/shopping\/impulse-buying.html\">Read more&#8230;<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p>With\u00a0stores closing &#8212; The Limited, plus some Macy&#8217;s, KMart, Sears, JC Penney and CVS &#8212;\u00a0retailers need &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/visit\/shoptimism-why-american-consumers-keep-on-buying-no-matter-what.html\">shoptimism<\/a>&#8221; and they should prepare for\u00a0Generation Z, the first digitally native group to grow up not knowing a world before cellular phones, smartphones and other digital devices.<\/p>\n<h2>Study by National Retail Federation and IBM<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Born after the mid-1990&#8217;s till early 2000s, Generation Z shops: 98% shop in bricks-and-mortar stores &#8212;\u00a067% of most of the time, while another 31% sometimes.<\/li>\n<li>By 2020 Gen Z will number 2.6 billion shoppers.<\/li>\n<li>Retailers must create interactive engagement around their brands to serve the &#8220;always on,&#8221; mobile-focused Gen Z shopper.<\/li>\n<li>Gen Z expects intuitive, relevant and engaging shopping. Their last great experience is their new expectation.<\/li>\n<li>Innovation is not linear or a one-time project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By C.
