They pig-out on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/fairs\/fair-food.html\">fair food<\/a>, cheer at pig races, see blue ribbon hogs and watch adorable piglets &#8216;on the farm.&#8217; At California State Fair this year they may even compete in the\u00a0Guinea Pig Squeal Contest. Why do humans hold such an interest in pigs, you ask? There are number of possible answers. Here are a few:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Decadent fair foods often contain bacon or pork &#8212; Chocolate-Covered Pork Rinds or\u00a0Wasabi Bacon Bombs have been a hit in past seasons.<\/li>\n<li>A few folks attending the fair may be wearing a life-saving\u00a0bioprosthetic porcine (pig) heart valve. By some amazing twist of evolution, human heart valves and pig valves are very similar in structure and function.
