As long as they are alive and safe from wildfires, for now that&#8217;s good enough!<\/p>\n<p>Not all animals survived the fire situation. At private residences such as\u00a0Patti Meyer&#8217;s home in\u00a0 Kenwood she escaped the fire but lost\u00a0her eight Bernese mountain dogs, four Bernese puppies and two miniature dachshunds. Some owners saw their family pets run off as fire approached, not knowing if they will ever be seen again. But as for the zoos, here&#8217;s some hopeful news:<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/zoos\/zoo-halloween.html\">Zoo Boos are mostly a &#8220;go&#8221;\u00a0<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Santa Rosa &#8211; Safari West is not taking guests till\u00a0 Nov.1, 2017.\u00a0 Friday, October 13th updates (safariwest.com) include: The animals are safe, secure, and surprisingly relaxed considering the situation. While we\u2019re still in the midst of an active fire, things are relatively calm at the Safari West Wildlife Preserve. The animals are safe and accounted for with full bellies and plenty of water to drink.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco Zoo (sfzoo.org) offers free admission until Oct.15\u00a0if you live in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Lake or Mendocino Counties and have been evacuated or are in a shelter because of the ongoing fires, now.<\/p>\n<p>Orange County Zoo (ocparks.com) canceled Halloween programs Oct.13-14 and says: &#8220;The Orange County Zoo is closed until further notice due to the Canyon Fire 2.
