When I grew up there was only one Santa and you’d be lucky if you ever saw him. Of course I didn’t grow up in California. I grew up in a small town (poulation 5,000) in the Midwest and times were different then.\u00a0 But this is 21st Century California — boasting a population close to 40 million and there’s so much of everything — including thousands of Santas.<\/p>\n

SAN DIEGO: Surfing Santa arrives at Seaport Village<\/a> to meet kids and take pictures with his surfboard Nov.25.<\/p>\n

CAPITOLA BY THE SEA: Surfing Santa arrives on Capitola’s Main Beach<\/a> with the help of Kayaker Elves Nov.25.<\/p>\n

PETALUMA: Riverboat Santa<\/a> arrives in Petaluma Nov.25. It’s quite a show!<\/p>\n

You better watch out…Santa is everywhere you look. In the spirit of Christmas, there’s a code of ethics for Santa behavior, especially at Santa Pub Crawls and SantaCons.<\/p>\n

Since there are so many Santas running around, there are a few bad apples from time to time. At a San Francisco Santa Con several years ago a few bad Santas actually were caught stealing.\u00a0 The overwhelming majority of Santas are dressed for goodwill.<\/p>\n

There’s even a Caring Santa at many Simon malls (simon.com) in California. This Santa meets unique children with special needs in an environment that assists in helping them have a positive experience free from many distractions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
