The hours of California’s attractions are a bit confusing on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The only rhyme or reason is probably explained by each attraction’s operating budget and how to make a profit. We always go places on these days – December 24, 25, 31 and January 1 – so we’ve surveyed the major attractions and provided a list of hours to refer to. We’re glad to share it with your, as well.<\/p>\n
BEACHES<\/p>\n
are open every day. Go enjoy, like thousands of people do as they bring the kids to try out news bikes, skates and other fun toys.<\/p>\n
DESERTS<\/p>\n
Deserts are open and in fact, are enjoying their summer season where the weather is mildly pleasant. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway attraction even has a combo ride & dine holiday ticket for meals served in the Pines restaurant at the top of the mountain.<\/p>\n
ICE RINKS<\/p>\n
California’s seasonal ice rinks are a great attraction on holidays, and many are open with modified hours.<\/p>\n
MOUNTAINS<\/p>\n
If there’s snow on the slopes, the chairlifts are running at 99 percent of the parks. However, this being one of the most popular times to visit just make sure you’ve secured your lift tickets and place to stay if going overnight. Yep, they are that popular!<\/p>\n
THEME PARKS<\/p>\n
Theme parks are a mixed bag. You can always count on Disneyland. It’s open every day of the year. However, Knott’s Berry Farm is closed Christmas Day. Two really fun dining adventures are open on Christmas – Medieval Times and Pirates Dinner Adventure. Theme parks open include Legoland California, SeaWorld San Diego and Universal Studios Hollywood.<\/p>\n
ZOOS<\/p>\n
Zoos are hit & miss but you’ll find some open on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Four zoos that are usually open on all holidays include San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park, San Francisco Zoo and Santa Barbara Zoo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
