A timeline of that historic festival can be seen on Imperial Beach&#8217;s current festival \u00a0website (sunandseafestival.com) along with a schedule of the Sun and Sea Festival celebration July 13-14, 2018. And the great news is that sand castles are back in a big way with an Exhibition Sandcastle on display Friday, and competitions for master builders or &#8220;Kids &amp; Castles&#8221; on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Sand castles are for everyone! Anybody can build a sand sculpture with just a few simple tools and a little know-how. Children instinctively do it on their trips to the beach, but when you watch master builders in action, it&#8217;s magic!<\/p>\n<p>Back when mega-sandcastle events were the rage throughout California, one of the world&#8217;s premier master builders declared our beaches had the best sand anywhere &#8212; specifically in Seal Beach. At that time Seal Beach hosted an annual sandcastle festival that included sculptures constructed by teams of master builders.
