While January has been declared California Restaurant Month<\/a> or Restaurant Week, depending on the city where you feast, some of the state’s favorite eateries don’t quite fit the bill for two or three course meals starting at $21. These affordable restaurants, delis and diners such as Lucci’s in Huntington Beach, are go-to places with long traditions of keeping the locals fed on a daily basis.<\/p>\n For 73 years, Lucci’s, an Italian-American deli, restaurant, bakery and catering business, has served\u00a0customers in Southern California with mouth-watering spaghetti and meatballs, roast turkey, lasagna, baby back ribs, salmon fillet, shrimp fettuccini alfredo and much more. Best of all, prices for meals start at $6.95, and breakfast fare at $4.95. There are wonderful daily specials, which particularly attract families and seniors.<\/p>\n In 1946, Lena and Carl Lucci (who operated a grocery store in Pittsburgh) began Lucci’s in Gardena. For 40 years, the Lucci family members made it prosper. In 1971, Lucci’s expanded by opening a deli (in part of a former Huntington Beach Albertson’s Store). It was operated by their son Bill Refice, Sr. and his wife, Jean. Today, it’s run by their sons, Bill and Rick Refice and family.<\/p>\n As destinations such as Huntington Beach host restaurant week events, insiders don’t mind sharing their secrets about local dining.
