My family and friends say they haven’t seen rain like we experienced in Orange County this week — for years, actually. \u00a0The good news is the sun’s predicted to shine once again, a welcomed sight to Californians who rarely see rain.<\/p>\n
Fun things on the horizon this week include events about famous people such as Ben Franklin’s Electric Birthday Celebration<\/a>\u00a0in Carson, and walks, talks, community service events and parades celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr.<\/a> throughout the state.<\/p>\n Among the more festive celebrations with entertainment, shopping and food in focus, there’s\u00a0Asian American Expo<\/a> at Fairplex in Pomona. When it began in 1982, there were only 60 exhibitors and one hall.<\/p>\n The Expo, which is part New Year’s Celebration, part business promotion, part anime & cos play, and completely family oriented, now encompasses 6 large expositions halls (400,000+ exhibition space,) 1,000+ vendors, 8 non-stop performing stages, and 3 separately unique food courts.
