One of the best ways to do so is to talk about food and events, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/holtville-carrot-festival.html\">Holtville Carrot Festival<\/a> often held the first &amp; second weeks in February. The &#8220;Carrot Capital of the Nation&#8221; hosts 10 days of fun with a parade, carnival, cook-offs, queen coronation and even a Carrot Run.<\/p>\n<h2>Agriculture Events<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>HOLTVILLE: \u00a0Carrot Festival\u00a0Feb.1-10, 2019<\/li>\n<li>COLUSA: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/fairs\/colusa-farm-show.html\">Colusa Farm Show<\/a> takes place Feb. 5-7 at Colusa Fairgrounds. With free admission and free parking, be sure to take kids if you can round them up! The Granddaddy of Farm Shows includes things that fascinate youth &#8212; lots of big, interesting machines on display. Saws, cranes, ladders and lumber are among the interesting vendor displays.<\/li>\n<li>TULARE: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/tulare-world-ag-expo.html\">World Ag Expo<\/a> Feb.12-14 features the Top 10 inventions of the year, including a fruit vacuum machine, a plastic floor cushioning cows, a 1-minute monster tire sealant pump and the\u00a0first high-capacity zero emissions forklifts.<\/li>\n<li>CLOVERDALE:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/fairs\/cloverdale-citrus-fair.html\">Cloverdale Citrus Fair<\/a> Feb. 15-18 includes an awesome wine competition, carnival and citrus delights.<\/li>\n<li>INDIO:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/indio-date-festival.html\">National Date Festival<\/a>\u00a0Feb.15-24 is the toast of the town with camel races and Arabian Nights Musical Pageant.<\/li>\n<li>IMPERIAL: California Mid-Winter Fair &amp; Fiesta Mar.1-10.<\/li>\n<li>BLYTHE: Colorado River Fair Mar.14-17<\/li>\n<li>SACRAMENTO: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/california-ag-day.html\">California Ag Day<\/a>\u00a0Mar.18 at the State Capitol is co-sponsored by California Women for Agriculture and California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.<\/li>\n<li>TULARE: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/tulare-california-farm-equipment-show.html\">Farm Equipment Show<\/a> Apr.12-14.<\/li>\n<li>SANTA BARBARA: Santa Barbara Fair &amp; Expo Apr.24-28.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While the majority of Californians live in metro regions within 50 miles of the coast,\u00a0it&#8217;s important to get people excited about agriculture.
