Paradise, Calif. — Gold Nugget Days April 26-27, 2019 (no parade this year.) Gold Nugget Days<\/a> has been an annual festival that began 60 years ago in 1959 to celebrate the discovery of a 54-pound gold nugget in 1859.<\/p>\n

The town has faced many situations and risen above them, thanks to strong community bonds and great organizations such as the Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Gold Nugget Museum.<\/p>\n

Nothing could have prepared this “little bit of paradise” for the Camp Fire, the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history to date. It began on November 8 and was contained November 25, 2018, killing around 85 people and burning down nearly 19,000 buildings. Its damage is estimated at $16.5 billion, but nothing replaces lives lost.<\/p>\n
