Maybe you didn’t notice, but California has more film festivals than any state in the nation, or any place in the world. Some events have decades-long traditions while others are newcomers to the scene. Themes run the gamut — from eco\/green, animals, kids, scare & scream, to international. Special segments of the population are recognized in festivals featuring films by or about Indians from India, Native Americans, Jewish films, Greek, African Americans, etc.<\/p>\n
Film festivals run all year long but the Fall season brings a delightful mix with some really fun stuff. Just the other day SeeCalifornia.com received an email announcing KaPow Intergalactic Film Festival in North Hollywood this month.<\/p>\n
Other film fests in September include Ag Art Film Festival in Vacaville, a Latino film festival in San Francisco, and return of Sacramento Horror Film Festival at Historical Colonial Theatre.<\/p>\n
Whether it’s too darned hot to stay outdoors in our traditionally warm Septembers, or you feel the cool breeze alerting you to mountain snow on the way, there’s no better time to plot your film festival attendance.<\/p>\n
If you want to take your interest a step further, there are some competitions for amateurs — just do a search on FilmFreeway or WithoutABox websites.<\/p>\n
