The event features spectacular lighting on the walls of the seventh of 21 missions established in California. It was permanently founded by Junipero Serra on November 1, 1776.<\/p>\n<p>While the city of San Juan Capistrano enjoys activities throughout the seasons, the mission is the centerpiece for tourism with summer concerts, a mariachi festival, return of the swallows &amp; parade, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/christmas\/trees\/san-juan-capistrano-tree-lighting.html\">host of seasonal, holiday celebrations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve also heard from Los Angeles County Arboretum &amp; Botanic Garden, about the return of Moonlight Forest Nov.9, 2019-Jan.12, 2020. Outdoor light installations (giant lanterns) include two new themes, Polar Dreams and Ocean Visions.
