You might say it is a dawning of an age&#8211;interest in the sea is\u00a0 increasing, and California has grown into an eco-conscious state filled with citizens and attracting visitors who want to see\u00a0 the sea prosper and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>Breaking ground when it opened in 1984, the Monterey Bay Aquarium (MBA)<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/aquariums\/monterey-bay-aquarium-birthday.html\"> turns 28<\/a> on October 20, 2012. Winning many awards for its facilities when it first opened, the MBA has won awards in recent years for its outreach, creating a fish dining guide for consumers and restaurants to learn what fish are on endangered species lists, and recommending that the public not eat them, while offering other choices.<\/p>\n<p>Following in the footsteps of Monterey, Long Beach made the bold choice to use the same famed architects to build their smaller aquarium next to their shoreline.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/aquariums\/long-beach-aquarium-of-the-pacific.html\"> Aquarium of the Pacific<\/a> in Long Beach similarly has grown from its splashy opening to include special programs all about the sea&#8211;what to eat, the benefits of kelp, ocean days, etc. They even offer a diver training program for volunteer divers to participate in a variety of projects at the aquarium and out in the Pacific Ocean. It&#8217;s really great!<\/p>\n<p>Recently the success of <a href=\"http:\/\/reservations.stockteam.com\/856_attraction-tickets_a3.html\">Legoland California<\/a> and its growth from one theme park into three attractions, included the grand opening of a stand-alone Sea Life Aquarium.\u00a0 Located in Carlsbad, San Diego County, it is but one of the many water-worlds you can explore in San Diego. There&#8217;s also <a href=\"http:\/\/reservations.stockteam.com\/856_attraction-info_p135_a4.html\">SeaWorld San Diego<\/a>, San Diego Zoo and Birch Aquarium.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve barely scratched the surface of California&#8217;s aquariums. Vallejo&#8217;s Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro and many more offer help youngster and adults to experience their very own dawning of a new world and new age.
