Spring is in the air at the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival (nccbf.org) in San Francisco&#8217;s Japantown, taking place Sunday April 14-15 and April 21-22, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>From the roar of the engines starting up in the biggest street racing event in California at Long Beach Grand Prix, to the make-believe world of Queens and Kings at Irwindale&#8217;s Renaissance\u00a0 Faire, good times are straight ahead and things are heating up. This weekend it&#8217;s hot enough at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/california-chili-cookoffs.html\"> Chili Cook-offs<\/a> in Red Bluff or Palm Springs, tasty in Julian&#8217;s\u00a0 Taste Of, and a green scene at a variety of Earth Day celebrations. It&#8217;s the season of events when planners dust off their decorations, costumes and entry forms, inviting the public to attend, participate and sell.
