The ugly dogs aren&#8217;t getting their just desserts as surfer dogs steal the spotlight, defiantly not rolling over to lose their 5 minutes of fame.\u00a0 If you ever watch a surfing dog contests, most dogs can barely ride a surfboard and some even shiver as their masters make them do it, but occasionally there&#8217;s a rising star of the canine surf world, and to see that moment&#8211;it&#8217;s priceless!<\/p>\n<p>Several days ago Purina Surf Dog Contest 2012 awarded three of 16 competing dogs top spots in the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge.\u00a0 Winners included Jedi, an Australian Kelpie, owned by Katie Seja of Oxnard; Kalani, a golden retriever owned by Andra Lew of San Diego; and Zoey, an eight year-old Jack Russel terrier owned by Scott Chandler of Carlsbad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SURF DOG CONTESTS 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IMPERIAL BEACH &#8211; Loews Hounds Hang 20 for Charity<\/strong> June 16-17, 2012<br \/>\nThe annual event invites pooches of all ages &amp; sizes to surf in the Pacific Ocean at Imperial Beach&#8217;s Dunes Park.\u00a0 Look forward to a wonderful afternoon at the beach.
