Instead, travelers see names such as Marin, Merced, Monterey, Kings and Fresno shown in photos, along with posted warnings about laws, speeding and emergencies. It&#8217;s enough to make you want to never stop.<\/p>\n<p>The most common warnings include &#8220;Speed Checked by Radar&#8221; and &#8220;Radar Enforced&#8221;.\u00a0 Then there&#8217;s the comforting &#8220;Emergency Call 9-1-1&#8221;. In Kings County you also get a mustard yellow sign warning &#8220;Subject to High Winds And Dust Next 16 Miles&#8221;. One of our favorite ominous signs warns, &#8220;Don&#8217;t pick up hitchhikers for next 30 miles.&#8221;\u00a0 Are they warning about UFO aliens or\u00a0 ax murderers, perhaps?
