July 28-August 5, 2012.\u00a0 He says that he has collected US Open shirts throughout a decade of beach entertainment and will probably pass up buying one this year&#8211;unless the design really rocks.<\/p>\n<p>The annual free US Open (usopenofsurfing.com) event held next to Huntington Beach Pier is estimated to host up to 1 million attendance during its 9 days of beach insanity. The event attracts large crowds to a beach village set up on the south side of Huntington Beach Pier, where free entertainment and grandstand viewing of surfing, skateboarding, bmx bike stunt tricks and other sports are performed in contests. \u00a0 Free spray-on tattoos, free drummers&#8217; village, and a free skate ramp are usually available, thanks to a variety of sponsors. Crowds are massive.
