It&#8217;s the time when the Southern California Palm Desert region begins to shine. People who have &#8220;holed up&#8221; during the summer heat finally get to come out and play.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/traveltips\/palm-springs-follies-are-having-a-heat-wave-not-a-heat-flash\/\">Palm Springs Follies<\/a> launch their annual season on November 1, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/palm-desert-golfcart-parade.html\">Golf Cart Parade<\/a> comes to town in late October, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/zoos\/palm-desert-living-desert-giraffes.html\">Living Desert Zoo<\/a> and Botanical Garden literally lights up with Howl-oween, and\u00a0 WildLights&#8211; 750,000 twinkling lights that illuminate the zoo after dark during the Christmas season.
