(There&#8217;s also an Open Streets event in Santa Cruz on Oct.7, 2012, see scopenstreets.org). In a street closure for a day called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/traveltips\/ciclavia-bicycle-event-and-new-bike-share-program-in-l-a-area\/\">cicLAvia<\/a>, pedestrians and bicyclists take to the streets to experience delightful car-free moments. Billed as LA&#8217;s biggest Block Party, the event happens just a week after Carmageddon (a portion of 405 Freeway was closed last weekend.)
