The beautiful, towering fir was brought to the Capitol on an over-sized flatbed of a truck, traveling south on Highway 5 on Nov. 7, 2012.\u00a0 The tree is one of the exciting holiday attractions that make Sacramento such a wonderful place to visit during December. Other events include daily singing inside the Capitol Museum, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/christmas\/trees\/sacramento-tree-lighting-ceremonies.html\">Old Sacramento Tree Lighting<\/a> on Nov. 21, Old Sacramento (oldsacramento.com) Raley&#8217;s Theatre of Lights held November 21-December 31, 2012. Each night a symphony of lights, sounds, and visual effects transports the audience back to a time when the beloved poem &#8220;The Night Before Christmas&#8221; was first introduced in Sacramento in 1857.
