Kirkwood Mountain Resort Gets Zipline

ZipTahoe Treetop Canopy Tour with eight lines with speeds up to 35 miles per hour, plus High Alpine Adventure Center where guests can add old-fashioned, horse-drawn sleigh rides, throttle-twisting snowmobile tours and evening snow cat tours, to the list of outdoor adventure options available at the resort are providing more reasons for the ski and summer seasons in the High Sierras of California. On-mountain upgrades to chairlifts provide a facelift to the resort’s existing lifts, along with new menu items at restaurants, and the construction of a new power facility slated for completion in 2011, which will deliver cleaner, more reliable energy to the resort and surrounding Kirkwood community. The resort’s new Day Care Dilemma Lift Ticket will be transferrable between parents hoping to split their time on the slopes and in the base area.

South Lake Tahoe New Restaurant at top of Heavenly Gondola Ride

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF.–Opening in February 2011 is a 14,980-square-foot restaurant, located at the top of Heavenly’s Gondola, mountainside. It will offer 500 indoor seats and 250 outdoor patio seats and is expected to provide the finest on-mountain experience for skiers and snowboarders. The four season destination sits next to the California/Nevada stateline and a city called Stateline, NV, where you can gamble, watch entertainment and have a good time in a city that never sleeps.

Restaurant Week in San Diego is On Its Way

San Diego, CA — From downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter to the beaches of La Jolla and Coronado and beyond, visitors to San Diego can celebrate the New Year with amazing deals at top restaurants during the 7th annual San Diego Restaurant Week, January 16 – 21, 2011.

The six-day celebration provides food lovers the opportunity to explore the region’s exciting dining scene for a fraction of the normal expense. Diners can enjoy special three-course, prix fixe dinner menus for just $20, $30 or $40 per person (beverages, tax and gratuity not included) at more than 180 participating restaurants.

Tickets or special passes are not required for San Diego Restaurant Week; however, reservations are strongly recommended. More than 100,000 guests turned out for the last San Diego Restaurant Week and even more are expected to participate in January.
