The Congregational Church in the gold rush era town of Copperopolis, Calif. was purchased for $12,000 and dedicated in 1866. The church congregation declined soon after, due to the mine being shut down. The church has served several congregations during its time, and has also been the headquarters for the local Mineral Lodge I.O.O.F. In 1939 that organization dedicated it for public use as a Copperopolis Community Center. It is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
