500 Creches

ELK GROVE, CALIF. — The annual Elk Grove Living Nativity “Christmas Creche” (elkgrovenativity.org) dates are set for December 12-14, 2014. The public is invited to a popular event that features over 500 creches from around the globe from Africa to Sweden to Egypt. You just never know where the year’s collection of creches will be from, but one thing is guaranteed, the varied depictions and materials used offer a mini-trip to a variety of nations and their creative attempts to capture scenes from the original Christmas Story–Joseph, Mary, angels, wise men, animals, and the birth of Jesus. The event is open to the public and is held at Seasons Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6711 Seasons Drive, Elk Grove, CA
