Nobody knows how to turn on the lights better than Oxnard, Calif. where each December there are dozens of holiday activities that are free or cheap, and guaranteed to lighten your life. Each night the annual Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show (which goes through Jan. 4, 2015, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly at Plaza Park,) transforms the Historic Pagoda. It becomes a high-tech interactive experience allowing visitors to participate in a spectacular computer-orchestrated show featuring over 30,000 flashing colored lights, holiday music, animated characters and lit trees. Christmas Tree Lane Dec. 14-25, 2014, expects thousands of visitors will visit and admire the Victorian homes and their artfully decorated holiday themes. Santa to the Sea Marathon on Dec. 14, Holly Trolley Tours on Dec. 16, 17 & 18, and Oxnard Parade of Lights (boat parade) on Dec. 12 & 13, are a small sampling of the delightful activities visitors are invited to enjoy.  See more…>
