Apple season is here. If you don’t believe it head for Apple Hill where approx. 50 apple growers and farms in El Dorado County welcome guests annually starting in September till the crop is gone. For those who want to celebrate the fruit that “keeps the doctor away,” Hayward’s Garin Apple Festival on Sept. 12, 2015 is a worthy launch to California’s beloved apple season. The festival takes place in an antique orchard, inviting the public to try their hand at pressing apples for cider and cranking the handle on the ice cream maker. There are plenty of apple festivals and attractions not to be missed this fall, spanning the state from Julian (known for its apple pie,) in the south to the northern region where Apple Harvest Festival in sunny Fortuna draws a big crowd.
