Vallejo Theme Park, Aquarium and Zoo
Unique among theme parks in California is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom where guests experience the latest roller coaster thrills combined with an aquarium and zoo. During Fright Fest at the park, which includes mazes and rides that become haunts at night, there’s another whole experience of animal and aquarium adventures. Pictured left are elephants Liz and Tava enjoying what’s left of a pumpkin patch. The right photo shows beloved Burma, a 29-year-old Giant Indian fruit bat who has been at the park since 1986, the year the park opened in Vallejo. Burma has been an incredible animal ambassador, helping to demystify common misconceptions about bats and opening the public’s eyes about these amazing animals. A favorite of animal care staff passed away in October. She was loved and will be missed, they say. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo is truly unique among theme parks.
