It’s a typical week in the great outdoors at California’s mountain resorts where summer is celebrated with mellow to extreme sports. Here are some happenings at four mountain destinations this July:

San Bernardino mountains Snow Summit (snowsummit.com) offers cross country biking and a new Euro-bungee for all ability levels.
Mammoth Mountain (mammothmountain.com) in the Sierra Nevada mountains on select mornings offers 11,056′ Summit Sunrise. The ticket includes a gondola ride, complimentary hot beverage, breakfast pastry and an optional Guided Nature Walk. You can also sign up for the 11,053′ Sunset & Full Moon Summit Party.
Each July the Tevis Cup is a 100-mile, 24-hour extreme horse ride through some of the most beautiful and challenging mountain trails in the Sierra Nevadas.
South Lake Tahoe (tahoesouth.com) hosts the SUP Series Saturday Night Race and a Full Moon Lake Tahoe Paddle, both taking place this week. Not pictured is a Pro Am Disc Golf Tournament July 23-24, 2016.
