FORT BRAGG, CALIF. — Walk with big, old burley Paul Bunyan this week on a tour of the town’s hot spots and interesting history, part of Paul Bunyan Days Sept. 2-5. From a pie sale to logging competitions, parade, hot dog eating contest, horseshoes, fireman’s ball and more, Fort Bragg’s got it all at this annual festival celebrating the region’s logging heritage. From the tallest trees in the world head southeast 280 miles to the world’s biggest trees as another festival, Sierra Logging Jamboree in White Pines, hosts its annual festival on September 3. It is hosted by the wonderful Sierra Nevada Logging Museum which sponsors a logging competition featuring both professional and amateurs.
