Fans of Elvis  who visited Graceland (graceland.com) recently for the annual candlelight vigil commemorating his death Aug. 16, 1977 were all shook up, having to pay over $25 after enjoying decades of free attendance and admission. Californians are all shook up for another festival event which is free — the annual Elvis Festival on Historic Main Street in Garden Grove. This year’s event also honors the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death. California has a long history of being shook up with the Presley presence in Hollywood, Palm Springs, Idyllwild and Beverly Hills, where ex-wife  Priscilla Presley revealed that she will never move out of her Beverly Hills home because it reminds her of Elvis. California has a longer history of shaking as the nation’s Earthquake Capital, which is also celebrated at a festival in Winters.
