Free Summer Concert Openers Set the Stage for Awesome Entertainment in California

The 2018 California (mostly free) summer concerts in parks and on beaches offer thousands of tribute band performances (Journey, Foreigner, Elvis, Neil Diamond, The Beatles, CCR, etc.,) and some “real deal” star power.
2018 Season Opener Highlights
- SANTA CRUZ: It’s a beautiful beach party overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Santa Cruz Wharf with 2 free concert performances each Friday evening June-August. Launching the series on June 15, 2018, Berlin with Terry Nunn steps onto the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Bandstand to perform 80s hits such as Metro and Take My Breath Away. Santa Cruz Bands on the Beach has booked The Motels, Los Lobos, Rose Royce, Smash Mouth, Los Lonely Boys, The Fixx, Y & T, The English Beat, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas and Papa Doo Run Run for the summer season 2018.
- SAN FRANCISCO: Stern Grove Free Summer Concerts launches with Peabo Bryson & Jeffrey Osborne. Bryson won two Grammy Awards for his performance of the song “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion and for “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle. Four time Grammy nominee Jeffrey Osborne is known for his R&B vocals such as Love Power he performed with Dionne Warwick. Then on June 24 Stern Grove Free Summer Concerts features Ziggy Marley.
- REDLANDS: Redlands Bowl free Summer Music Festival this year features Surf City Allstars with Original Beach Boy David Marks on June 29. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast musical is performed on stage July 26-29, with no ticket required and first come first serve seating to the free show.
