
Whether you’re mildly a fan of golf or are serious about the sport, California has a number of golf tournaments that attract crowds who come to see celebrities and to party in a festival atmosphere.
Golf tournaments have become experience-oriented events with concerts, pop-up cocktail bars and parties to tempt you t0 spend more. Tickets to simply watch pros playing on PGA tour often sell out. But, like music festivals, you often can still buy the upgrades that include admission, drinks, and easy access while others wait.
While Tiger Woods is back on the circuit this year, signed up to play in several tournaments in California, some star-struck fans go to catch a glimpse of celebrities at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am where Clint Eastwood, Justin Timberlake and high profile stars have appeared in the past.
The original and longest-running celebrity event on the PGA TOUR, Feb. 4-10, 2019 at three of the Monterey Peninsula’s world-class golf courses features Ray Romano, Chris O’Donnell, Josh Duhamel, NFL quarterback Matt Ryan, Jake Owen, Huey Lewis, Toby Keith, and Clay Walker along with golfers Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker and Jordan Spieth.
There will be food trucks, wine bars and something for kids at FanDome tech-forward innovation hub on the 3rd Fairway. It incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics into various hands-on, golf-themed activities.
Pebble Beach is certainly among the world’s finest destinations for tournaments, but California has a roster of high-profile golf events in La Quinta, La Jolla, Pacific Palisades and across the state at more than 1,000 golf courses and clubs.
