In early December The Tournament of Roses began its month-long celebration to welcome the New Year with a floral scent. 37 million viewers anticipate seeing broadcasts, while up to a million people attending a variety of events bring their cameras and hopes to capture the essence of this sweet smelling celebration held in honor of Southern California’s fabulous winters.
Locals who came up with the idea to promote the land of winter sunshine and warm weather over 100 years ago couldn’t have known that their concept would grow into a year-round production with 35 permanent staff members and thousands of volunteers. There’s so much going on that if you miss seeing the Tournament of Roses Parade or Bowl Game, you can still catch other fun happenings.
