With just a few days till October 31, it’s nearly time to shift gears and begin planning your winter holidays and vacations. There’s a string of them coming, and believe it or not, over 40% of Christmas shoppers have begun buying holiday gifts before Halloween even arrives, according to National Retail Federation. Veteran’s Day ceremonies, seasonal ice skating rinks, Turkey Trots, Nutcracker Ballets, holiday concerts and sing-alongs, Tree Lighting Ceremonies, boat parades and Christmas parades have been months in the planning.  There’s still time to book a white Christmas at many California ski resorts, or blue Christmas along the Pacific Coast.

Here’s the short list of holidays and dates  to round out 2013:

  • Daylight Savings Sunday, November 3, 2013
  • Veteran’s Day –  Monday, November 11, 2013
  • Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 28, 2013
  • Chanukah November 28-December 5, 2013
  • Christmas – Wednesday, December 25, 2013
  • New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, December 31, 2013
