Would it surprise you to know that there are close to 300 airports and air fields in California where roughly 183 million passengers enplane & deplane each year? Anything so important to our lives is bound to be celebrated. However, you don’t normally see commercial aircraft featured at plane and aircraft festivals. Vintage aircraft and military flying machines are the stuff of dreams at these events where the public gets to watch daring aerial feats, walk inside military craft and get a plane or helicopter ride, usually for an additional fee.  How important are air shows? In 2013 Blue Angels air shows were cancelled due to government funding issues.  Four shows in California were cancelled and fans of these awesome aerial displays were devastated, but glad when they returned in 2014. Appearing in four cities in California this season, the Blue Angels air shows will go on in El Centro, Miramar, San Francisco and Ventura. But that’s not the end of the story.  There are dozens of air shows to dazzle your senses and leave your head spinning as you watch those daring pilots perform spins with corkscrew maneuvers!
