For those who think California is getting too crowded, you might want to head to Amador County where there are less than 50,000 residents total! Even with the sparse population, you can’t believe how much there is to see & do in just a single day. On Saturday, April 30, for instance, you can visit this historic, gold-rush era Kennedy mine, tour the fascinating Preston Castle and see the Kit Carson Mountain Men Wagon Train procession. 15 horse-drawn covered wagons journey from an encampment at Amador County Fairgrounds through Plymouth, Drytown, Amador City and Sutter Creek, to Jackson between April 28 and May 1.  Join the fun — stay the night at an historic hotel —  then go home!
