  • PALM SPRINGS: 3,000 red and white carnations are dropped from a B-25 Mitchell Bomber (right photo) in the annual Flower Drop Ceremony at Palm Springs Air Museum dedicated to fallen comrades who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. Memorial Day is filled with flight exhibitions, Heatwave Band, flying aircraft and a Beer Garden.
  • ALAMEDA | SAN DIEGO | SAN PEDRO: At California ship museums — USS Hornet (Alameda,) Battleship USS Iowa (San Pedro – left photo,) and USS Midway (San Diego) — history comes to life as visitors explore famous military vessels that have served to protect American citizens. One of the biggest celebrations lasts three days with famed Lighthouse band in concert and many events all weekend in San Diego.
