In an era in which youth and beauty are revered the Indian Pow Wow holds steady to tradition, honoring instead, the person who has lived many years and has gained much wisdom. A special ceremony in California honors Native Elders in Sacramento on June 4, 2016 at the State Indian Musuem with the Governor’s Recognition.

Honor the sacred.
Honor the Earth, our Mother.
Honor the Elders.

This April you can see a pow wow and learn about time honored traditions that include beauty in its many forms — youngsters in costume learning to dance, teens, college students, adults and elders all coming together to celebrate. California’s history awaits through the pow wow experience.
