Pictured is an image from Lodi, California’s Sandhill Crane Festival taking place in November. It is one of the many engaging bird festivals and events you can catch around the state.

Audubon says California is lucky to be one of the finest birding destinations in the U.S. with more bird species recorded (660+) than in any other state. For anyone who wants to experience the full range of North American birding it’s a must-visit destination. The only problem is deciding where to begin.
