From the region that brought you Mac Fest celebrating macaroni, they’re makin’ bacon now. The Crowning of Bacon Queen, celebration of the first “ham” to eat 3 lbs. of cooked bacon, and music for dancing like a fool at the pink hotel (Madonna Inn) are ingredients that make San Luis Obispo Bacon Festival worth a chomp and a stomp to the Central Coast. The public is invited to attend, participate in contests, and sample wines, brews and great  food by  local chefs. The event on Sat., November 23, 2013 is a fundraiser for local causes. Tickets are $35 pre, $40 door, see: slobaconfest.com. Other food & beverage festivals in San Luis Obispo County this month include Garagiste Festival Nov.7-10 (californiagaragistes.com)

Girls and ladies–you want to be the Big Bacon Queen? Here’s the judging criteria:

– Bacon Knowledge
– Bacon Outfit Design
– Bacon Dedication (Impromptu Question)
– Talent (MUST be Bacon Related)
