Barbershop Quartets Singing Valentines Return to California Towns

The Dapper Dans barbershop quartet has performed at Disneyland in Anaheim since 1959. Guests delight in seeing them in their brightly-colored striped vests, bow ties and straw hats at California’s #1 place to take a date on Valentine’s Day.

There’s nothing quite like barbershop harmony quartets and musical groups crooning romantic songs and offering chocolates, flowers and cards to the one you love on your behalf, but they often sell out time slots on Valentine’s Day. Don’t wait till February 14 arrives before getting the bright idea to hire a Singing Valentine.

While the love of harmony is a transformative power globally, in the U.S., the Barbershop Harmony Society was founded in 1938 to preserve and extend the reach of a uniquely American close harmony musical art form. Its roots lie in African-American improvisation and European harmony traditions.

The Singing Valentines reflect these traditions with recognized love songs popular in America. If it’s something you and your loved ones appreciate, then give it a spin. But if you do, start booking when February rolls around.
